April NC SU Demo Blog Hop- Mom's the Word

This month we are celebrating Mother's Day by sharing projects that celebrate our mothers, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, aunts and/or any of the other special women who have made an impact on our lives. Nothing says MOM like an apron.

This was one of my cards at our April Stamp Camp.  Everyone loved it.

I got this cute idea for aprons from Jennifer Hill, an over the top creative Stampin' UP! demonstrator from Gainesville, FL.  I used these adorable aprons for name tags for stamp camp earlier this month.

The banner below has aprons on it too.

These are my team members that live in the area along with Linda from Virginia that was visiting.
From Left to right: Karen Patterson, Joan Hartshorn, Faith Epp, ME, Linda Pierce, Bonnie Hughes

Below is my friend June Sullivan working on her projects.

Carolyn Pollmeier and Betty Sicard making cards.  We always have a great time together.

Vacation Part 1

In May I took a fabulous vacation the week of Mother's Day.  I went to visit my son Chris and grandson Jacob in New Hampshire.  We were celebrating Mother's Day, Chris' birthday and my birthday.

When I first arrived and Chris took me to dinner at a great Italian Restaurant called Dante's. We were so busy catching up we didn't even realized it took a long time to get our meal.  I love those special moments with our children.

When I arrived, I found these this little vase of spring flowers (daffodils and tulips) from the yard.

In my bathroom I found these sweet smelling lilacs. What wonderful touches.

Later I found these beauties outside.

The first day we went to Jacob's Buddy Ball game which brought back fond memories on the bleachers with my own boys when they were little.

I felt pretty pampered, on Mother's day I had breakfast in bed from my grandson Jacob.  What a sweet memory.

Jacob made my breakfast.

See that proud smile?

The day just got better.

Then I received these beautiful tulips. I love tulips.

To top it off we had lobster for dinner (one of my favorites), it was a learning curve for me because I am used to eating it in a restaurant where it is usually lobster tails already prepared for you to just eat with a fork.

My other favorite home made chocolate pie.  :) Yum

Well that is about it for this time. I just wanted to share a little bit about me when I am not stamping.

Thanks for stopping by,
Frances

Happy Mother's Day

This is the card I made for my mother using new products from the new catalog.  I love the colors.  I will be sharing this with my stamp clubs soon.

Supplies used: From the new 2013-14 catalog I used:
 Mosaic Madness Stamp set
Mosaic Punch
Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder
Coastal Cabana Ink and Cardstock from the new in colors

From the 2012-13 Catalog
Melon Mambo Ink and cardstock and Ribbon

Remember I will be placing an order from the new 2013-14 catalog on May 31st so let me know if you want to add to my order.

For Mother's Day, I was in Tyner, NC with my parents and sister and brother this weekend. I was helping with remodeling my parents house.

This is a picture of my sister Carol and my brother ...Ray and I when we are fresh in the morning......... ha! No pictures in the afternoon I was dog tired. I thought I was coming to paint and guess what I am now the caulking queen. Yep I learned to caulk and I used the air gun to secure the luan flooring and THEN we layed linoleum, wow I can not believe the 3 of us carried a floor that weighed a billion pounds to the front yard to lay it out and cut it and of course it started to rain after we rolled it out. Somehow we managed it with the help of the Lord I am sure it was devine intervention for us to be able to do it. Anyhow we accomplished a lot today. Soon my parents will be in there new home. Just thought I would share.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day

This is the card I made my mother for Mother's day and she loved it. You can't tell but on the elegant eggplant part I used the Manhatten Flower embossing folder and it really looks sweet.
Several weeks ago my husband was planting spinach and I never noticed what he was doing (he normally plants them in a row and a few weeks later I was outside and he was watering the garden and I happened to pay attention to the spinach and this is what he did, is this not sweet or what. He planted spinach and mustard greens in a heart shape. I was so surprised. :)
I got to celebrate Mothers day a little early last week. My son Chris surprised me with a visit from New Hamphire. My other son Eric and his wife Chrissy invited us over for dinner on April 30th and when we got there my other son was there cooking dinner for us. What a sweet surprise. After chatting with me on the phone Chris called Eric and said you better invite her over quick you know how she has those stamping parties and classes. Well they know me well. I did have a church craft fair but I called my partner and told her I would help her set up and I would work an hour but then she was on her own. It worked out perfectly. Thanks for letting me share my blessings.
