Christmas Toffee

I have a recipe that I just have to share, it was orginally called Cracker Candy, however I like to change the name to fit the occasion so I call it Christmas Toffee. I made it for a cookie/candy swap with my downline a couple of weeks ago and it was a hit. Tonight when I was making it for my family gathering I thought this is so easy I have to share it with my stamping friends. I got this recipe from a friend Pat Rackley and it is so easy you are going to want to make some soon. Christmas Toffee
1 tube of saltine crackers- crushed
2 sticks of melted butter
12 oz chocolate chips
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup nuts
Line cookie sheet with foil spread crushed crackers evenly on sheet. Combine brown sugar with butter and cook 3 minutes; remove from heat; gently ladle over crackers. Bake 7 minutes at 350º while hot pour a 12 oz package of chocolate chips over mixture. Spread the chips with spatula as they melt; chopped nuts can be added at this time. After the pan has cooled place in refrigerator for a few hours. You can now break the candy into pieces. The foil will peel away during this process. Enjoy! Merry Christmas from the Wagner Elves
